REGISTRATION DEADLINE: October 12, 2014

Unless noted, all sessions are FREE!
Advance registration is required. Bring your own lunch or leave time in your schedule to visit one of the many nearby restaurants. Anyone having back to back sessions without a break is welcome to bring a lunch and eat quietly during the first few minutes of the afternoon session. A minimum of 5 participants are required for each class. Classes with less than 5 participants will be cancelled. Cancellations will be announced & participants notified by October 14th. |

Girl Scout Program Basics ($3 session fee)
|
This interactive workshop introduces volunteers to Journeys and the Girl's Guide to Girl Scouting for all grade levels and demonstrates how to create a leadership experience experience for girls. Participants will have an opportunity to experience fun activities they can share with girls. This course has a $3 session fee. Risk Management
|
Safety is the number one priority in Girl Scouts. Learn about the importance of managing risk and ensuring that all safety guidelines are followed. Identify resources available as risk management and safety planning tools. This course is recommended for all adult volunteers who work directly with girls and is required for members of the volunteer support team.

Tips for Trips
|
This workshop will provide helpful tips on planning trips. **This does not take the place of the required Troop Paperwork and Trip Planning class.

Noon-4 pm
|
First Aid/CPR Certification ($40 session fee)
|
This interactive course empowers volunteers with the knowledge of how respond in the event of a medical emergency. At the successful completion of this course, volunteers will receive a 2 year Basic First Aid/CPR certification. All troops are required to have a current First Aid/CPR certified adult present with the girls at all times. **Session fee will be paid on arrival to the class. Please bring your payment with you.

Managing Troop Finances
|
Helping girls earn and manage money is an integral part of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE). Learn how to cooperatively set goals, make decisions, manage a budget, maintain records, learn people skills, and develop good marketing, entrepreneurial, math and financial skills.

PB&J (Proficiency Badges & Journeys)
|
Have you taken Girl Scout Program Basics but are still unsure about how to make Badges and Journeys work together? Do you want to look at the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) in a different way? Are you looking for that "aha" moment that just makes everything click? This session is designed to address all these questions and more! Learn how to make the most out of the entire GSLE process in a fun, interactive and easy to remember way. **This course is designed to be an expansion of and does not replace the required Girl Scout Program Basics leadership course.

Compass Basics
|
This hands-on class will help you discover the parts of a compass and how it is used in the out of doors. Compasses are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own.
