All leaders, new and experienced are invited to attend and start your year off with a BLAST! Based on feedback from last year, we have a larger venue and more enrichment trainings available. The main event will feature booth style exhibits with a variety of topics presented by Service Units, Community Partners (area businesses with special offerings for Girl Scouts), and council representatives. Lunch will be on your own - bring something with you or explore some of the local offerings. Following lunch, some vital basic training - including Service Unit Orientation and Girl Scout Program Basics - and a selection of enrichment trainings will be offered. You must register for the event and sign up for all training in advance. All training courses will be offered at no additional cost. We look forward to seeing you there! *Service Unit Teams* Just as with last year, all Service Units are being asked to provide a topic display, Please submit your topics using the registration form at the bottom of the event page. Please submit your topics by 5/30/2014. Planning for the second annual Coastal Connection Leader Launch is underway. Mark your calendars now to join us August 23rd at Star of the Sea Catholic Church. We listened to your feedback and this year's Leader Launch promises to be bigger and better than last year! We have selected a larger venue with the opportunity to offer more booths during the morning portion of the event. In the afternoon, we will not only offer Orientation and GS Program Basics for our new leaders, but will also offer an assortment of enrichment trainings for our returning leaders. You can register to come only for the morning portion (10am-noon) or register for classes and stay all day! It will be an exciting opportunity to meet other volunteers, learn new information, gain new skills and begin your scouting year with a blast! Registration will open on May 15th with special "Pre-Launch" discount tickets if you register between May15th and June 23rd. After June 23rd, registration will go up to $5 per person. Help us plan enrichment trainings that interest YOU! Take our "Pre-Launch" survey and let us know what classes you want to see. Plus, all survey participants will receive an email with a direct link to registration once it opens on the 15th! (Participating in the Pre-Launch Survey does not commit or register you for the event - that mus be done separately once registration opens.) Last year we had a successful event held at Thalia United Methodist Church where we offered displays of information/enrichment followed by Program Basics classes. This year’s event is planned to be held August 23, 2014. We have two possible locations which would give us more space to display, add fun work shops, add more classes if wanted. Let’s Get creative! The Cape Henry Service Unit has scheduled an Outdoor I Class at Great Neck Park on Sunday, November 24 at 1:00 pm. They still have spaces available! The training was just added to eBiz for registration. The training lasts about 4 hours and costs $7. Participants need to bring two #10 cans (coffee cans or large ones from a school cafeteria).
